I hope everyone had a chance to glimpse the partial – or total – solar eclipse on Monday. All this talk of our recent “Great American” eclipse got me thinking about previous eclipses and two early eclipse chasers in Amherst history: David Peck Todd (AC 1875) and Mabel Loomis Todd.

The Northeast Organic Farming Association summer conference takes place this weekend at Hampshire College. One of the first seminars was “The Full Skinny on Healthy Orcharding” with Michael Phillips from Lost Nation Farm in New Hampshire.
